CET 3010 - Quiz FAQ
Question
_________ relates to standards of right and wrong in information processing practices.
Answer Explanation
There are a few specific terms I would accept for that one; ethics is not specific enough, however, information ethics, data ethics, personal data ethics, and other variations dealing with the access to information in combination with ethics I would accept all of them.
The reason is straightforward; there are many types of ethics studies - just like there are lots of flavors of engineering (civil, mechanical, etc...). Information ethics is a specific branch of ethics that, even though it has been around a while - because of the ethical concerns of access to information, it is much more important now because that access is so much more prevalent.
But you do bring up a good point so I want to add it to a quiz FAQ. (BTW - IT ethics kind of fits, but not exactly - because it goes beyond just the technology part).
